I've been hearing about this show for so long now. Here's a look at it's trailer. It's called How To Make It In America, and Scott Mescudi (Kid Cudi) has a major supporting role. The show follows a couple of young people trying to achieve the American dream in New York City. The show will premier February 14th. Can't wait!

Meet Trevor Mcfedries (DJ Skeet Skeet)

Being fairly active on Twitter these days, I often run across a few people that leave me interested. I had the chance to connect with west coast DJ/producer extraordinaire, Trevor McFedries, aka, "Dj Skeet Skeet". I think you will enjoy this interview. This guy has great energy. Make sure to follow him on Twitter as well.

1. I see you are repping the West Coast. What city are you from? Where do you spend most of your time?
I was born in LA raised in Davenport,Iowa and live in LA proper now.

2. What is your weekly schedule in terms of DJ'ing?
I primarily produce all week and travel during weekends for DJ gigs. Up until a few months ago I was travelling a lot during the week, but i've tried to cut back recently. I don't really have any residencies in LA, when i'm here i'm usually working on making music. That said I used to throw a party on Mondays at "Temporary Spaces 1" and might start up a new party sometime soon. My schedule's up on the myspace too - myspace.com/straightbutterscotchyo

3. What major projects do you have in store for the Spring/Summer 2010? Any collabs?
Spring I launch a new umbrella company that will kind of combine all of the stuff I have going on into one brand. A really rad WMC party is in the works right now as is a SXSW party. I'll be finishing up Gumshoe's record she's the first artist i've signed to develop and produce and her EP is coming along nicely. At the moment just produced a record for Chris Brown, working on stuff for Kelis' record. Just a lot of craziness always going on but crazy is good.

4. What would you say was that turning point for your DJ career?
I don't know that there was a specific one, I guess when DJing started taking up more time than my design stuff. At that point I knew this could be a really fun way to make a living and maybe I should take it more seriously than I had. It's been a total blessing that people allow me to play music and bring me out to do so.

5. Are you working with any artists on production?
Ya quite a few, like I said I just finished that Chris Brown thing. Submitting things for Kelis, I have Gumshoe's record. Sky Ferreira and I have a mixtape and live show we're working on as well as original tracks.

6. What was the craziest party you have ever DJ'd?
That's tough to say, I just got back from Australia and the show in Sydney at the Metro was amazinnnnng.

7. Who are your favorite artists out right now?
Kingdom
Nicki Minaj
Gumshoe
JJ
Salem

8. A lot of our viewers are from DC, MD and VA. If you could describe LA in a couple words, what would they be? Do you recommend the young, creative and ambitious to make the move to the west coast?
I love LA with all of my heart. It's a city with a personality disorder like none other so you really got immerse yourself in it for a few months before you find the piece of the puzzle that you enjoy the most. I'm also a fan of really riding hard for where you're from. DC,MD, VA and that part of the country in general has had one of the biggest impacts on me musically than any other. From the dischord stuff like Black Eyes to Bmore Club to Gogo and even Wham City it's got so much creativity i'd suggest visiting LA grabbing ideas and letting them manifest in your neighborhood.

DC Snowball War!!

According to an eyewitness, a D.C. Police detective went nuts after kids pelted his Hummer with snowballs at 14th and U Streets NW the other day. The veteran detective got out of his car and eventually grabbed for his gun, displaying it to the crowd. Apparently, someone called 911 to report a man with gun. The snowball fight had been well hyped on Twitter, and it looked pretty epic!

Apparently an undercover cop pulled out a gun on the snowball fight!

9Five Eyewear Spring/Summer 2010

A pretty cool video done for 9Five Eyewear. Not a big fan of the glasses honestly, but I do like the video-ography, and also the girl's ass in the beginning! This video reminds me of Black Hole Sun video from the 90's.

Brandon Jennings Buzzin'

After graduating from Oak Hill Academy (DMV WHATTUP!!!), he decided to play professional basketball with the Italian club Lottomatica Roma instead of playing collegiately for the University of Arizona Wildcats, leading to controversy and debate on the NBA's "prep-to-pro" policy adopted in 2006. After a year in Italy, Jennings declared for the 2009 NBA Draft and was selected by the Bucks tenth overall. This kid also grew up in Compton. #LezzGo!
